We have now grown into a work force of over forty employees. Commonwealth Tool & Machine now resides in a state of the art 126,000 square foot facility, located directly across the street from Toyota Manufacturing in Georgetown, Kentucky. in 1984, our founders Steve and Charlene Whitlock created a workplace culture where all employees are treated as one family. CTM employs a full Mechanical Engineering staff for all of your design needs. We primarily use Solidworks, Catia, and Autocad CAD softwares and can utilize almost all 3D file formats.

CTM has both a Faro Prime 12’ and a Quantum-S 12’ CMM arm. Both arms are mobile and can be transported to the job site. CTM uses Verisurf 3D Metrology software.
Top of the line laser cutting machine capable of cutting almost any metal in sheets 5’ x 10’ and up to 1” thick at speeds up to 2000”/minute.
204” X axis, 98” Y-Axis, 31” Z Axis, and 43” W Axis limits. Machine has a conventional cutting head as well as a rotatable right angle cutting head. One of the largest machining centers in Central, KY.
- Capability of programming various logic controllers such as but not limited to Allen Bradley, Toyopuc, Mitsubishi, and Omron.
- HMI design/Integration with data capturing capability and distribution.(Faults, cycle times, downtime, product tracking, etc...)
- Integrating various components and communication protocols into the system.
- Commissioning
- Capability of integrating/programming various robot controllers such as but not limited to Yaskawa, Kawasaki, Nachi, Fanuc, and ABB.
- Process setup, offline programming, and process simulation
- Robot setup.
- Motion path teaching, robot to robot interlocks, interference checks, cycle time reduction, virtual safety perimeter setup, and various other activities required.
- Commissioning.
- Setup and install a variety of products for machine guidance, Depalletizing, Bin picking, Visual tracking and inspection with both 2D and 3D vision systems.
- Roboeye, Cognex, iRVision, Liberty Reach, Motosight, V-Guide, Keyence.
